Points of interest

The Giant Mountains National Park

Contains the highest mountains of the Czech Republic including parts of the foothills at an elevation of 400-1602 m. Its relief is rocky, in some parts craggy, created by several phases of Pleistocene glaciation as well as significantly caused by impressive lift. Its remnants are glacial cirques with steep rocky walls, remains of glacially molded valleys, waterfalls and there is also a glacial lake in Poland. The essential part of KRNAP is overgrown with forest, today somewhat thinned by emissions. Krkonose fauna is very rich. Abundant here are bats river otter, small plover, great owl, black stork, viviparous lizards, common asp and the rare reptile Vertigo arctica.

Lisci hora

The peak is situated on the division line between Lucni hora (peak) and the Cerna hora (peak) 1363 m above the sea level. On the mountain crest, there is one of the heavily used pathways from Pec pod Snezkou to Rozcesti.

Pec pod Snezkou

A skiing and tourist centre set in the East part of the Krkonose in the Upa river valley and the Zeleny potok and Lucni potok creek valleys. The first records originate from 1534 when an extensive mining took place in the Obri Dul pit. The mining works were ended in 1876. The boom of tourism and skiing encouraged the construction of a funicular to Snezka and the installation of many skilifts.

Vyrovka

A tourist cottage located in the Vyrovky saddle at an elevation of 1356 m above sea level.
